EB2 is Engineering Building II on NCSU's Centennial Campus. The
East half of EB2 is the Department of Computer Science (the West half
being Electrical and Computer Engineering). EB2 is a large building -
about two blocks wide—so it is worth paying attention to where you
are.
- Google
map shows EB2 directly (it brings you to the breezeway), but
you can't park in that area without a permit

- Map
of Centennial Campus
- EB2 is in the middle toward the right of the map; it is labeled
782B
- The loop above EB2 is Oval Drive: the main entrance is from Oval
Drive via a large brick breezeway
- The best bet for parking is in the Partners Way Parking Deck
(labeled 713A in the map) (adjacent to the Red Hat Parking Deck),
which lies to the North of the left corner of EB2; this parking deck
consists two connected decks; the left two entrances are for the
employees section; the right two for a paylot
- You can park in the employees section of the Partners Way Parking
Deck (713A), but only if you obtain a visitors permit from the
Information Booth (1702 Varsity Dr)
- You can park in the paylot section of the Partners Way Parking
Deck (713A), but then you must pay separately there (the visitors
permit doesn't work there)
- The university is extremely strict about parking
- Professor Singh's research lab is close to the Southeast end of
EB2, on the level above the main level
- Classrooms 1229 and 1231 are close to the Southeast end of EB2,
on the main level
- Getting in from Varsity Drive or Partners Way (from the West)
- From the bus stop on Varsity Drive and Partners Way or from the
parking deck on Partners Way, go up the curving brick stairs just
outside the building
- Walk around the building (this is the ECE part) till you come to
the breezeway (a covered gap in the building)
- You should see two symmetric glass structures enclosing fancy
staircases: the one on the right (Southeast) is Computer Science
- Getting in from Oval Drive (from the North)
- Right in front is a huge breezeway, kind of like a covered gap in
the building
- You should see two symmetric glass structures enclosing spiral
staircases: the one on the left (East) is Computer Science
- Walking in (this is where the fun begins because the pointers are
incomplete)
- The classrooms are mostly on the main level on either side of the
vinyl hall
- For the service-oriented computing lab, use the spiral staircase
to go up to the second floor; walk into the hall about two feet,
turn right through a door (if this door is locked, you can call one
of us), go about 20 feet, and turn left through another door
(generally propped open) into a narrow carpeted hall
- Handicapped access
- From the bus stop on Varsity Drive and Partners Way or to the
parking deck on Partners Way, you can enter EB2 right from the point
where Varsity Drive ends on Partners Way: this is one level below
the main level
- Go down an extremely long concrete-floored hall to
the second elevator: classrooms are on the first floor; some
faculty offices and labs (including the service-oriented computing
lab) are on the second floor; others (including the departmental
offices and mailroom) are on the third floor
- When you get out of the elevator turn right; just before you get
to the atrium is a door on the left (if this door is locked, you can
call one of us), go about 20 feet, and turn left through another
door (generally propped open) into a narrow carpeted hall
